L3 Communications HOldings is an American company that was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in New York City, New York. The company has over 9 Billion in annual revenue and has over 38,000 employees. The company supplies communications systems and devices to the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Government Intelligence agencies.

Northrop Grumman is an aerospace and defense contractor that is based in Falls Church, VA. The company dates its origins back to 1930 with the formation of the Grumman Corporation. In 1994, the Northrop and Grumman Corporations merged to become one entity. The company now has over 67,000 employees with an annul revenue of over 25 billion dollars.

It is interesting to learn about inventions and innovations from industries I am not very familiar with. Bell helicopters created the first helicopter and conducted the test flight in 1942. That's not very long ago.

Originally founded in 1884 as an electrical and mechanical business, Rolls-Royce was the result of a partnership that formed many years later in 1906.

A world-wide aerospace manufacturer with a great history of innovation. As a side note, this is going to take more research to figure out the relationship with Pratt & Whitney the manufacturer founded in 1860.

This is a new company on my radar. I found BAE while doing research on corporate core values in the aerospace industry.

Another great aerospace company. To be honest, there were a bunch of different values flying around the world of Airbus. The Airbus website has "Core Tenets," instead of core values, which were a bit longer in nature. I decided to default to the parent company, the Airbus Group, formerly known as EADS, in order to tie a clear set of core values back to Airbus.

The aerospace industry, particularly aviation is a personal interest of mine. I discovered Lockheed Martin while doing research in aerospace. I was immediately impressed with the depth of their history, their sense of corporate values, and their acknowledgement of these two areas.

During my initial research on the Boeing Corporation, I never realized how many historic aircraft companies have become part of the Boeing corporation. Learning more about this iconic company is going to be very interesting.

I have always been a fan of the LearJet. Such an iconic brand and industry leader in the aviation industry. It is great to learn more about this great company and how their committment to innovation, product safety, efficiency and performance are the foundation of who they are as an organization turning out great products.
