Wylie Welling Carhartt

Mr. Wylie Carhartt was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, January 22nd, 1885. His father being Hamilton Carharttand mother being Annette (Welling) Carhartt. He moved to Detroit with his parents as an infant and attended school at Detroit University. After high school, Wylie attended Yale University and received his Backelor of Arts degree in 1908.

During his career after college, Wylie has been associated with the family business Hamilton Carhartt Cotton Mills, which focused on manufacturing overalls for hard working people. During his tenure at Hamilton Carhartt, he has mastered all areas of the business, which has been attributed to the continued success of the overalls manufacturing business.

Wylie Carhartt is now the vice president of the Hamilton Carhartt Cotton Mills of Detroit. He is also the president of the Hamilton Carhartt Cotton Mills of Toronto, Canada.
